2014 Evo X GSR SSL Package!?
I would say get it! They're very hard to find and even South Coast Mitsubishi down here in So Cal don't even carry any SSLs. Heck, even the SSs lack in numbers compared to the amount base models they have. If it doesn't work out then go at least with an SS. The base models are just plain dull. It's already 2015 & I can't believe Mitsu is still making them. They could have at the very least dropped the non-SS lights with projectors.
right, leather makes the car look much more luxurious
Where I live, they're selling a base model gsr for 36k and a couple hours away they have a SSL gsr for 38k. So probably going for it since it's only 2k in difference

Not only you get leather, like I said on my previous post you get the projectors/HID headlights, sound system, and the FAST key option (which I think it's near impossible to install on a base model).
I chose to get base model because I had initial plans of installing my own sound system in it later on. Nothing too fancy but maybe a touchscreen deck, some speakers and a 10"sub. All of which will cost me less than 1k to do I assume. (haven't really looked it up, its been a year and I haven't installed a sound system. LOL) I also found a set of used headlights that were retrofitted. Hi/low beam projectors and angel eyes for 340$. Sunroof and leather didn't really care for. Although its a lot more work to modify your car than to just buy it as is. All depends on what you want

my previous MR came with this option and I wasn't impressed.
After 60k miles, the leather looks pretty bad with tons of wrinkles.
The HID was good, but I honestly think my DEPO in my current GSR is not too far behind, and DEPO runs less than 250.
As far as smart key. Yes, it does provide some connivence, but it is more annoying when it doesn't function properly when they are near your phone. I am a guy who is around electronics a lot. I found it can be pretty annoying when you found you can't turn ignition because the system shows that it can't find the smart key.
Edit: you probably dont want any roof option on any performance car, as it makes the car less rigid.

I got my 2014 WW SSL in July and I couldn't be happier. I got out of my 06 IX which I loved but the more aesthetically appealing interior and safety for my little one was key. I can honestly say the leather was a make or break for me. The stock cloth seats are just bleh, and for the price of the car def not worth it.
Since there were none in my area, it was shipped over :-D

I fully intend to eventually redo the entire sound system, starting with the sub (12w7 incoming) but the other features of the SS package cost more to add after the fact than the entire SS package from the factory. Getting the fast key alone will run around 2k+ with labor. HIDs another 2-300+.
Typical day:
- At home, remote start car with key fob to warm it up.
- Get in car, turn plastic knob (where the key would be).
- Drive to work
- Turn key to off, arm alarm, car keeps running for 1 minute (turbo timer, configurable)
- About 5 minutes left to leave from work, remote start car with cell phone (key fob out of range, cell phone has unlimited range as long as the car is in a service area).
- Get off work, get in car, warmed up ready to go. Drive home.
- Get home, turn plastic knob to off, get out, arm the alarm, car shuts off (don't need turbo timer at home, 35 through town)
Yeah, fast key doesn't add much in this setup because you still need the fob to arm/disarm the alarm (which you can do with both the compustar fob and the fast key fob -- both disarm the alarm). In a perfect world, compustar would integrate fully with fast key and the door buttons would arm/disarm... but they don't

Still, it's pretty nice.
