It's not a surprise to me (FWIW). Some markets label trim packages differently with respect to USDM. What's your concern again?

And to other dude: no where does it say 'MR SE', it say 'SE'. Trimmed down MR, fancy GSR, same shiet. Can we agree to help OP now?

The Japanese guy above gives a good example of this: no 'MR' in Japan, only different trim levels of GSR.

Yeh I guess I don't really have any concern any more. They're obviously factory cars, its just I couldn't find any reference anywhere to GSRs with SSTs. Oh well.

I think I'm going o go for the SSt initally and if it fails or if I don't like it, I can always get a manual box swapped in, right?

Unless you're going to put a gigantic turbo on the thing, or plan on towing your boat, you're probably not going to run into any problems. The whole "the SST is weak, BEWARE" talk has been going on for the past 6 six years.

Getting a manual box swapped in there will be a good deal of hassle. You'd be better off having it fixed/rebuilt if it blows up.

No giant turbos, no boats.

I plan on only doing a few bolt ons and a tune at most. Thanks folks.
