28psi stock motor, stock turbo??

i recently got a tune for my evo x and my tuner told me im tuned at 28 psi.. i thought it was pretty high so i looked into the forums and people are actually tuned at 22~24 psi unless you're running E85 or 93 octane but here in socal, we only get 91 octane. Im not tuned for E85 yet and i wont be for a while, but are any of you guys running the same psi? my tuner told me im perfectly fine but im scared my engine or turbo will go "kaboom!"

my current mods are:
- AMS widemouth downpipe
- AMS testpipe
- ETS intake
- ETS UICP
- Grimmspeed EBCS
- 91 octane @28psi

im sorry there were so many posts about such issue but i just couldnt find the solid answer!
thanks in advance.

Here in NJ on 92 octane usually max boost is 27psi

I wouldn't do it without some time of safety. AEM fail safe or whatever its called or an EMS that can see timing and adjust. Too much at risk for not that much more power.

big no no. You need stronger connecting rods for higher boost to be safe.

Also stock turbo with 91 octane is just blowing hot air around. Stock turbo is not for high psi, besides the 4B11T has a lot more trick then boost, to get power out of the stock engine....
Look for another tuner, if that is his solution for high power with this set up.
I would suggest do not step over 26psi peak, if the high boost is a must for you, and want to be safe.

I'm at 27 and will occasionally see a spike to 28, but I'm on 93 not 91. It also bothers me that it's so high but my tuner said it was safe and I rarely go WOT anyway

28 PSI spike vs 28 PSI holding 3500 to 5000 RPM is very different,
if you are talking about 28 PSI spike and drops to 26 PSI thats ok and normal on EVO X platform. If the car is not knocking at 28 Psi spike then you don't have to worry much,
if the car is knocking during the spike then you need to have him adjust the tune.
If your still using the stock BOV than you must be tuned at 26 PSI with 28 PSI spike which is common on the evo platforum.

That dyno graph didn't show any boost curve graph, if you want post up a WOT log from 2500 to 7k RPM 3rd gear that will give more information than your dyno graph.

Your car is fine man. You don't have to post threads on multiple forums asking if its ok lol. Baka is his tuner from 5150. From what I hear he seems to know what he's doin. You're "a ok"

This. Mine spikes to 27-28 all the time but doesn't hold that all the way to redline. Have not had any problems yet.

If it's 5150 I would rest easy from my understanding.
