Good idea...that is why I did so PRIOR to ever lodging my question

Problem is, the factory site, actually, is not entirely helpful. Go to the very site you recommend and you too will see that it says nothing about whether the roof is aluminum when there is a sunroof. Also, it says nothing about aluminum doors nor trunk lid. The conclusion is that the doors are not aluminum and neither is the trunk lid. The roof remains in question when sunroof equipped.

Okay energumeno,

I did do multiple searches. This is a site dedicated to Evolution Mitsubishi, no? It is THE place to go to get THE best information, no?

Then, why would you become a gutter snipe? You don't belong on discussion board with human beings if you can neither contribute to the discussion in a constructive manner AND you cannot maintain some modicum of civility.

The questions were and remain reasonable and to this point have not been answered.

I guess this site really ISN'T authoritative but rather just a place where opinions and no facts reign...along with a lot of mean-spirited, antisocial rantings and threatening ditiritus are eructed.

Ignorance is not charming, neither is offering me your microscopic member, one which, even if it could be found, deep amongts the forest of crawling creatures, I have zero interest in.

This thread is dumb...if your that worried about rust then just do the extra steps..sheesh you clearly do not care for other peoples advice. Iowa's awnser was correct. Or you could just drive the dumb car and if it rusts just fix it as you go.

This, too, is a non answer.

What was IOWA's Answer? IT certainly does not answer the question of EXACTLY which panels are Aluminum. For if it did, I would not still be wondering. And, if it were, you would be able to answer the question yourself. Instead, you contribute to and perpetuate ignorance and presume why I am asking the question ...AND make and incorrect presumption.

I SIMPLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT PANELS ARE AND ARE NOT ALUMINUM. CAN YOU DEFINITIVVELY ANSWER THE QUESTION? APPARENTLY NOT.

No I AM NOT IN THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED ABOUT RUST. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE BLOODY CAR IS MADE OF!

ONCE AGAIN, NO ONE HAS COME YOU WITH AN ANSWER TO THE QUESTION BUT LOTS OF MEAN SPIRITED BRASH IGNORANCE.

SHEESH.

WHAT IS THE ADVICE THAT i DO OR DON'T CAR ABOUT?

I SEE NO ADVICE WHAT SO EVER except:

1) THE GUY THAT SUGGESTED USING A MAGNET...GREAT IDEA but only if you have a car on which to use the magnet!
2) the guy that said to go to Mitsubishi website: I did and it DOES NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION IN ITS ENTIRETY but only partially (AND IT CONTRADICTS THE ANSWER PROVIDED BY THE PERSON WHOSE ANSWER I TERMED CRYPTIC.

SO, another zero for a supposed EVO enthusiast. If you don't care about the car or the questions raised by other members, why do you belong to the site? Maybe you can answer that...without sinking into the gutter, that is.

Just goto the dealer with a magnet and look at one and find out for yourself. Im suprised out of all the problems and small issues with the evo, you would be asking about rust when these cars are not really even old enough to have issues yet. And they come with a pretty long rust warranty as well i think its something like 10 years. Which if you buy a new one is a long time of ownership.

Jesus christ. You come on here DEMANDING answers and when you get informative responses from people who are knowledgeable and contribute to this site, you start acting like a diva.

Do some further investigation, then, if these responses do not suffice.

Thanks for the reasonable and civil answer. I did think of this but as the dealer is far away, I thought someone would know on this site filled with veritable enthusiasts.

ONCE AGAIN: I AM NOT CONCERNED ABOUT RUST. RUST IS A NON ISSUE FOR ME. MY INQUERY HAS NOTHINGH (ZERO, ZILCH, NIL, NONE, NADA) TO DO WITH RUST CONCERNS.

ONCE MORE, I AM NOT CONCERNED WITH RUST.

DID I MENTION THAT I AM NOT CONCERNED WITH RUST.

I only care about the aluminum because I find it interesting and noteworthy and something thta strikes me as just as important as several other special and remarkable features of this xtraodinary car

i DID NOT "DEMAND" ANYTHING. PLEASE TELL ME (SHOW ME) ANY SINGLE PLACE WHERE I "DEMANDED ANYTHING WHATSOEVER. YOU CANNOT BECAUSE I DID NOT.

PLEASE, FURTHER, TELL ME WHERE I RECEIVED ANYWHERE A SINGLE "INFORMATIVE RESPONSE" THAT ANSWERS TEH QUESTION THAT STILL TO THIS MOMNET HAS NOT BEEN ANSWERED BY ANYONE:

IS THE ROOF OF A SUNROOF EQUIPPED EVO X ALUMINUM? NEVER ANSWERED IN ANY OF THE RESPONSES.
ARE TEH DOORS AND TRUNK LID OF THE EVO X ALUMINUM? NEVER ANSWERED IN ANY OF THE "INFORMATIVE" RESPONSES

JUST A LOT OF MEAN AND ANGRY AND INACCURATE IGNORANT BLATHER...EXCEPT FOR THE FEW THAT GAVE GOOD CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS WHICH I HAD ALREADY THOPUGHT OF BUYT WHICH EITHER DID NOT PROVIDE USEFUL INFO OR REQUIRE A CAR ON WHICH TO TEST WITH A MAGNET.

IT IS YOU WHO IS ACTING LIKE A DIVE. AND DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT A DIVA IS?

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ENTHUSIAST SITE BUT YOUR RESPONSE AND THOSE OF THE OTHERS WHO TELL ME EITHER MY QUESTION IS DUMB OR THAT I AM CONCERNED WITH RUST, WHICH I AM NOT AND NEVER SAID I WAS, OR WHO SUGGEST THAT THE ANSWERS HAVE BEEN INFORMATIVE ARE JUST PLAIN WRONG AND DON'T BOTHERT TO READ WHAT IS WRITTEN.

SOD OFFIF YOU CANNOT GVCE USEFUL INFORMATION.

AND, CEWRTAINLY YOU DONT BELOING ON AN ENTHUSIAST SITE OF YOU DONT KNOW AN ANSWER , CANNOT GIVE SOME CONSTRUCTIVE INSIGHT BUT CAN ONLY COMPLAIN, CRITICIZE WITHOUT FOUNDATION OR ANY USEFUL BASIS.

Okay, caps or no caps, crazy is telling someone to "eat dick." That is crazy...but you seem totally okay with that. What you cannot fathom, however, is the use of caps throughout.

Does it dawn on you that maybe the keyboard was stuck in caps and I frankly did not care to delete and start over nor to rewrite? Who gives a rats *** if it is in caps.

After all, throughout this entire thread, at no time was the question actually answered. No, not once and not yet. But, how many times did someone or another commenter state that I cared about rust, in spite of the FACT (there are those awful caps!) that I never ever even once mentioned any concern about rust: NEVER (caps again, ughhhhh! How offensive to use caps!).

Never did I make any "DEMANDS (another commentor's caps)" though I was accused of such.

I simply asked a basic question which to this moment no one has bothered to or been able to answer. And, the factory website does not answer it either: is the roof of the sunroof EVO X aluminum? and is the trunk lid aluminum? and the doors?

Now, it is not lost on me that no one with an EVO X has thought to nor offered to throw a magnet on their car to learn for themselves and for the "enthusiast" site what is and is not aluminum. That is okay, I did not ask anyone to do anything for me but merely to educate me.

Unfortunately there is a whole lot of *****ing and very little educating. What a delightfully insightful experience it has been.

It does leave open the question as to why this site exists if a person cannot ask a specific question, get no answer but get an awful lot of mean spirited, ignorant, presumptuous, even arrogant, meaningless blather. Is this what this site is all about? I hope not.

I hope for just one single solitary expert answer. Just one. IF I cannot get it, I will report back to the group of "enthusiasts" what the actual and correct answer is to this simple question.

For the evo X the only panels that are aluminium are:
Bonnet
Front guards
Roof-non sunroof (sun roof- I don't know)

Everything else is steel.

Thanks Yogi B!!!

Simple and to the point and factual. I really appreciate it. When I get the chance to go to get to my own car, I wil find out about the sunroof roof!

I will promptly report back with a definitive answer!

Again, thanks.

Also while we're on the topic, I know the hood and front fenders are made out of aluminum, but what are the doors and trunk made out of?
But I thought your "not interested or concerned with rust at all"?
