Soon to be Evo X Owner :D

Hey guys, I am new to the forum and I am soon to be an Evo X owner, been shopping around for quite a while and just having trouble finding an Evo X I like and that has the SSS package. I am not trying to go to far out of town so I guess I will be just waiting it out.

Anyways, I was wondering since this will be my first turbo car, first AWD car and basically my dream car I am going to baby this car. What are some things I should know when I get the opportunity to own this beast, any tips and advice and mistakes I need to avoid? Thanks guys and happy to be a part of this forum

I highly advise a clear bra,you don't have to get it tuned but it will be much better ride. Also when you do brakes never get OEM stuff alot better less expensive rotors and pads.

I checked out a Evo X last night it was the Octane Blue. The dealership was wanting about 29.3 for it with 20K miles. It had the SSS package just no spoiler and no navi. Which was not an issue, but when we started talking price he didn't want to budge a single penny of the asking price, which made me just walk away. The car drove like a dream and I am currently in love with one. He called me back so if he is wiling to negotiate I may have one by today

So when buying brakes, dont get the OEM stuff? I kind of had trouble understanding your post. And a clear bra is one of the first things I will do then, missouri roads are not the best.

Some of the worst roads in the US, how is insurance here in Missouri for the Evo?

That's not too bad, i figure if it is under 200 a month I am fine with it. Being 22 years old sucks since insurance companies love to cheat you, hoping AAA is cool with it as I have a Mazda6 as well.

The Evo im looking at comes with an Intake and Exhaust, I don't plan on doing much more too it early on until later, am I okay driving it with the intake and exhaust on a stock tune on a daily basis? Intake is a Short Ram and the Exhaust is a Invidia Single Exhaust.

Yeah, you'll be fine. Just as long that it's a catback exhaust, not a full turboback exhaust, then you'll be fine.

And to reply to your very first post about wanting to baby the car, trust me, I said the same exact thing lol. I don't drive it like a maniac wherever I go, but I definitely don't baby the car either. It's pretty tempting.

You might want to also look at getting mudflaps. The sideskirts' paint chips very easily on these cars, and mudflaps help out a lot. Just my advice
