Headace

Hey guys, I've never introduced myself yet. I bought my evo X 4 months ago so far it's got all the boltonts except for Fmic and a CC stage 3 clutch. I took the car to the dealer the other day for them to reseal my oil pan because it was leaking and come to find out my head gasket and rear diff is leaking as well :O. They took pictures and sent it to corporate and I got denied of warrnty due to modifications. But by law they have to prove that those modifications cause the head gasket to go back. The car has 24k miles and at 13k miles it bent valves and had a whole new cylinder head put in so it is now on its second head. My thought is that the head gasket was installed incorrectly just due to the fact that the oil pan wasn't even sealed correctly. So I'm going to try fighting it with Corporate advisors but I don't think I will win. So I'm wondering if there is anyone local in IL thats willing to help me tear it apart and since I'm going to have the head off I thought I might as well do cams. So I'm debating on Kelford B cam or GSC 2 and valve springs also ARP head studs with a oem head gasket. If anyone is willing to help me I'd be greatful.

I hate seeing stories like this. Scares me to mod my evo since Mitsubishi is such a ****ty company. I hope someone can chime in and help you out from prior experience. Maybe an attorney could help?

I contacted state attorney waiting on their response. The guy told me compression is good and car is driveable but I decided to put it in the garage and let it sit until I get things figured out because this isn't right

Just so we (I) understand---you have a bad head gasket caused by a leaking oil pan and the car shows good compression.

I may not be the sharpest pencil in the pile but this seems all wrong, too many unrelated / incorrect statements.

Good luck.

I don't think you understood me. What I mean was the tech couldn't even seal a oil pan correctly let alone a head gasket.

I would definitely do a compression test, but then again I've seen cars where they had oil leaking from the head gasket and still had perfect compression.
