Unhappy Evo x mr

Love my 08mr but I miss the manual tranny so much (lol) . I still owe like 20 k on it and the car is set at 25 k do u guys think I should swap her for a barebones Gsr (to minimize the loss for the swap Trade in ? Of course I'll buy a used one maybe 12 or 13 and maybe rack up 5 more for cheaper monthly ? I thought I wouldn't mind the sst but a few months made me miss all the control of the tranny . lmk what you guys think .

If you can afford it, trade for the 5-speed. I would. Good luck.

For me I miss the interior, nav (not mr specific but my gsr doesn't have one), the transmission and it was much more comfortable than my current Evo is considering they are basically the same car.

The GSR is much more in line with the Evo 8 and 9 as where the MR can be much much more subdued (which is nice after a hard day at work)

My only regrets is when I bought it (2010) local support was seriously lacking IMO

And the color graphite grey in actual life is such a boring color.

If I can do it over I would've got the gsr first but maybe it's where I'm at in life right now

I seriously love my current Evo but at times I wish I was driving my girls DSG equipped tdi jetta because the Evo is rough.

Hopefully my ramblings make sense

You are gonna lose so much money, man.
What are you planning to do with the car?
DD and light race?
Or DD only?
I honestly think the money you are gonna lose doesn't justify the the switch.
Let me tell you something I like about MR so you might reconsider.
IMHO, MR is probably faster in almost all occasions, you will never shift as fast as computer. Unless the driver is pro, with same level of skill... I think MR would win. I never shift as well as computer under racing condition. Sst does it so much better, you can downshift like race pro, and it just does it so smooth at any rpm.
I personally would like a MR again, but the cost of MR was the main reason that I stayed away from it. I got my GSR ptd for 36k.
A MR would cost 4k on top of that. I don't think I could justify the difference for almost the same thing for me.

That said... If it bothers you so much... Then, just bite the bullet and do the switch. I know you will hate ur life if you hate ur car everyday.

You're going to get ruined.

I don't know what your complaint is as well? LIFELONG and I mean DIE HARD stickshift driver, and driving the car 100% in S-Sport manual I don't miss the stickshift honestly because I am so connected to the road and I am so much faster now.

I do LOVE a stickshift, but the highway drone on a GSR was a bit much for me due to the short gearing. I LOVE the GSR, had a 2014 GSR then a 2014 MR and would only have the GSR as a secondary car.

I dunno, are you really running the car? I can't imagine you disliking the transmission if you really are in the proper mode and having some fun with it. Extremely capable IMO and I hated automatics for eons. This isn't really an automatic but you get what I mean.
