2015 "Engine Appearance Package" pics

Saw this new option on the website but had issues finding out what it actually was, finally found a car with it in person so I took a picture. To be clear I'm talking about this:

ENGINE APPEARANCE PACKAGE $695
Adds:
INTERCOOLER PIPE
FRONT STRUT BRACE

Obviously, if you plan to mod this is useless and a complete waste of money. If you don't plan to mod, it's still pretty bad. It's definitely not good on the Octane Blue pictured above, red and blue are kinda funky together. They should have made this package be body color matched. Would have been a lot cooler and kinda worth it if you weren't going to mod. (It might look pretty good on PB)

So $695 and they just paint a couple parts? Is that the only change with this package? A can of spray paint costs less then $20... Powder coat it for less then $100 and even if you had a shop remove the parts for you... Maybe $50 in labour? This is just silly.

Yep. That's the only difference. The parts are painted/powder coated red. There's also that little plate on the bar there that says lancer evolution.

I was wondering this same thing yesterday when I saw it on the website. Makes me want it, but not for $700.

Your pic has me convinced I want it.

If I wasn't selling the Evo I'd be ordering it today...

It should be 700 for upgraded recaros, not uicp & "painted" struts!

The engine appearance package came on my car when I ordered it.

I did not know it had it.

Mitsubishi must be getting them installed on cars this last production year to get read of the surplus.

My request was for a Phantom Black MR with the Leather and Sound and Sunroof.

I took off the bar to clean it the other day, and I noticed it was half the weight as the regular
black bar that came on my 2013 MR.

So this Red Bar in the engine package is much lighter in weight.

For you guys information.

It looks good in the black cars.

couldnt you just powder coat the ones that come on the car already for like 40 buxs maybe.. Instead of paying 700 buxs for the same pipes that are powdercoated.. This option seems way over priced.

You could and I bet you could match the color of the engine cover a little better than they did too.

This is not something that is worth money, it just looks nice.

You could probably remove the engine cover then get the pipe, bar and valve cover powder coated to match the cars body color cheaper than the package. Probably still cheaper even if you include the labor to remove/reinstall those parts, and it would look far far better than that package does.
