Turbo problems

Hi guys I had a question about my Evo X. I installed a aftermarket COBB boost controller. Idk if it from that but im guessing it is. When i am in normal mode or just moving and I pin the gas pedal the turbo spools up and starts like making really loud pops and the car jerks back and forth and every time the turbo pops the service engine light flashes but doesn't stay on. If I am in sport mode and ease into the gas it doesn't do it. If anyone knows something about this information would be much appreciated.

Awesome! Adding something as important as a boost controller and have no idea what exactly what it does or how to use it!

If that is the thing you installed you need a tune and you are overboosting the car and could and will cause serious damage.

People... christ.

Don't just throw **** on your car with no idea of what it does. That's about the fastest way to screw up your car apart from driving it straight into a wall.

EBC will always require a tune of some sort.

For 1 thing I didn't put it on my car the previous owner did and I do know what it does I just was unsure if it was because of this. I didn't know it was recommended that it should have been tuned when it was put on because I didn't put it on

I am confused now.

Are you walking it back because (perhaps) it was a bad idea to install stuff without understanding all the potential impacts?

Or am I wrong? If so - I apologize.

This forum is invaluable - but you gotta' use it first, eh?
