Evo X Front License Plate Bracket

Hey guys,

I did some searching, but couldn't find a front license plate mounting solution that doesn't require me to drill my bumper.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

front plate

I have had an Evo 8,9 and now a X and have done the same for all three.
I never drilled the bumper on any of my cars.
I don't want the plate on when I drive so I always remove it.
What I have done is use velcro on the flat part facing down under the center portion of the bumper and anothet piece on top of the plate bracket.
When installed the license plate covers part of the intercooler.
When I park its a simple act of putting the plate bracket up against the bottom of the bumper and voila it stays in position.
Believe me I have forgotten to remove the plate NUMEROUS times and regardless whether on the Parkway or thru a car wash it does not come off.
I had the same velcro set up on my 9 for over 8yrs and it never failed me. I never even had to replace the velcro with a new piece!
If you are OK with removing the plate when you drive and putting it back into position when you park then it's fine.
Takes all of 5 seconds and you get used to it after a while.
Good luck.

You can take a look at tow hook mounting solution.
It doesn't require drill holes on bumper but it does require some work on crush beam.

I drilled mine after after I got my license plate and I am happy with how it looks.
It also gives cops 1 less reason to pull me over.

This car with license side front plate looks... for the lack of better word, very "JDM" .
You don't see a lot of cars mount licenses on the side and I think it looks unique.

I run without one because all options are hideously ugly. I got one ticket for it, and all I did was velcro the license plate on my bumper long enough to take a picture, and brought that to court with me - dismissed.

Chances are you won't get a ticket, but this is an easy fix if you do. Most cops aren't such *******s they will write you up in the first place it seems to me.

I got pulled over literally 14 times when i first bought my car with no plate. The cop even said " I understand you have a nice bodykit but the law is the law". Each time i got pulled over i got warnings. The messed up part about it though it was in my home town of 34,000 people. So i finally hit the same cop and he said get it or you get a ticket. He did also mention.. "The black and white theme makes it very noticeable that you don't have a plate btw".

Just get the damn plate... lol, I tried..
