Will Evo's be tough to get?
The Civic Type R is going to be FWD though. So the RS would probably be more what people who were in the market for an Evo or STi would be looking for. Not that the Type R finally coming to the states wouldn't be cool; it just won't be competing for the same segment. Plus, in my opinion, the RS looks a lot better than the Civic (more mature anyway).
Yeah man no kidding, there are Evo's that have 60k miles on them selling for like 4k less than a brand new one! it blows me away, obvious it has mods on it but these cars for sure maintain their value! This is another reason why I dont want a RS because who knows how they will maintain their value its Ford...
I really want Recaro seats so I am looking for a pre 2015 model. However that final edition Evo is looking really nice but its going to cost an arm and a leg! Which might not be worth it because the GSR model retains its value just as much as the final edition..
thoughts?

We have new evos in my area going for 33k. They have so many on the lot just sitting. In pa we have some cheap used ones with low miles as well. I would wait though especially for the rs which looks promising.
As for me though I am in the process of pre ordering the Final Edition. If there are pros or cons that come with it I will just deal with it. After all, they are ending and I am planning on keeping it for good.
Having this same issue myself, that is, whether to wait for the perfect Evo or not. There are plenty of gently used EVOs around you just have to keep looking. It never fails that when you feel you've found the right EVO, there is a history of damage or modification that tarnishes the vehicle's reliability. Imo I would buy an EVO IX MR and X MR along with a GTR R34 NISMO Z TUNE. who needs exotics when you have this line up in your 3 car garage. Am I right?
I would agree with odin. if you are worried about the seats, you can just replace them without worrying about paying an arm and leg for it.

I will. The dealership told me that they're having a meeting with corporate on the 20th of this month and on the 21st they will give me a call with the info and begin my paper work. The pre order is also the same as the deposit so once I put it down in guarantee it. Its also non refundable. As far as they know I'm the first one on the list to pre order so I'm pretty stoked about that.

I was told about 1600 will be made. Production wont begin for the final editions till November and wont be in till January or February of next year. I dont mind the wait. Its only a few more months. As for the upgrades in not sure about all but the HP is around what you said, suppose to sit lower, have different set of rims, leather interior with recaro seats and a badge for the production number. As for anything else they'll hopefully know more on the 20th. They're going to keep me updated along the way whenever they find something out.
There will be plentiful of 10s for years to come (used). The 8/9s on the other hand will be harder to get. And I think the rarest ones are the Evo 9 RS and Evo 8 MR models. I haven't seen either of those two on the streets in years.
Where do you live? I see 8 MR's for sale on Craigslist monthly around here and there are many 9's to be had every week.
