Weird FAST key problem - Car always thinks key is present?

So I've searched through the FAST threads I could find, but couldn't find anything like this. My X seems to have glitched into a state where it always thinks the key is present. The doors will not lock using the buttons on the handles or the keyfob. If I look through the window it says "Confirm Key Location" like it would when you've left the key in the car, but I'm holding the key and the spare is in a drawer at home.

I've manually locked it using the metal key for now. Any thoughts? Is there a "reboot" procedure to try? Just pull the 12V battery for awhile and see what happens?

I generally try to avoid the dealer, but seems like I have a decent chance of needing a trip with this.

That's what I would do. Just disconnect the battery and let it sit for a few minutes and try again

I was doing some testing and found the car would start even without the key inside, which made this a bit higher priority than I otherwise would have liked. I took a break from work to head out and pull the battery for a bit. After reconnecting, the system seems to be functioning normally again.

Really, really strange, but at least the fix was easy. Thanks!

I was going to suggest blowing up the car and defrauding insurance, but this was a much better and faster fix.
