Tune questions involving setup
Tune questions involving setup
I know there are these just absolute hardcore guys that it doesn't matter if you add a boost gauge you need a tune. My question is, im getting ready to start my build, money isn't an issue so no ignorant comments about that. Im having my clutch and turbo installed here at the dealership I work at. The car itself rarely sees over 4k daily. I'm not building to have a 900hp setup, im building for a fun car to drive daily. So the clutch needs break in time anyway, while the trans is out doing the clutch might as well do the turbo and downpipe. My tuner is 2.5 hours away from me. Is this thing going to legitimately ok to drive back and forth to work with no beating on before. I can always have it trailered to my tuner for tuning which would need to be done with the injectors and fuel pump. But I see no reason to spend twice the labor on doing the clutch then doing the turbo. I get that yes the a/f will change, boost will stay the same but will never hit max boost due to not being tuned. Thoughts opinions? I do have an AP3 which im sure someone has used an ots map for this same instance of having stuff done then getting it to a tuner.

As long as you stay in vacuum, you'll be fine. You can even dial in the Stage 2 map plus scaling for the ETS intake just to be extra safe. The fueling components and EBCS I would definitely wait until you get to your tuner for install.
