Question: Intercooler hangers

Can an aftermarket intercooler, (AMS) for me, be supported by only the upper and lower pipes? As you all know the intercooler has 2 hangers (1left/1right) to support it. If I were to remove them since they are connected to my crash bar would my IC be stable?

I'm sure someone who is more mechanically inclined who could answer it better. However; I don't think I would feel confident having my IC just hanging on by uicp/licp, as vibrations and normal starting and stopping would eventually snap off or bend the piping. Not sure why you want to not use the hangers as that's what they are there for, support.

I am removing my front crash beam but I want to make sure my IC is fine with it's weight before doing so. The hanger brackets are connected to the underside of the crash beam. So if the crash beam comes off so does the brackets.

I can personally tell you the stock configuration, it will support. Mine is an 08 that is stock all around and couldn't budge it when I had all the hangers off. Im sure its not the best but yeah. I am assuming its the hardness of the stock couplers that make it that way.

That's what I want to hear Blue. I would figure the AMS pipes and Couplers are stronger than stock, so if yours held surely mine should hold.
