Question Looking to make a shift knob

Hey guys,

So I've been looking into shift knobs, and as I own an MR; I was hoping to get something rather specific for the way the shifter works like a boat throttle. What I want is something circular from the side, but is flat on a vertical plane. That way I can easily lift the lower ring without the knob getting in the way of my fingers. If anyone is familiar with Malibu boats, a friend of mine has the exact knob I want pretty much. I was wondering if anyone has thought the same, and has found anything that fits their likings. I've also thought about finding a company that can cut one out of metal for me. if anyone knows anything about that it could help too. Thanks guys

Order one of the phenolic ones and take it to a machine shop and they can make the flats in less than five minutes, and a couple bucks. (Or if you have access to a mill, it wouldn't take but a few passes.)
