AEM Boost Gauge Problems

So I've had an AEM digital display boost gauge for a few years now, and about a year ago it stopped reading anything. I finally got tired of seeing "---", so I ordered brand new wiring AND a sensor for it.

Got it all hooked up today, and it reads, but at like -30psi at idle. Under WOT, it will climb up near to 4 or 6. The weird thing is, it reads at -18 when I turn the key to ACC, whereas I'm guessing it should be at 0ish. I have the power hooked up to the cig lighter fuse, but I tried #12 as well.

It seems like it reads the boost accurately, but the calibration is horrible? I'm almost starting to think that the gauge itself might be toasted. Any thoughts/advice?
