Mounting tires?
Mounting tires?
So I bought some MPSS from costco the other day and I'm not sure if I should let them mount them on my brand new RPF1s. The only reason why I want to mount them there is because if I don't then I don't get the warranty on the tires. Does anyone have any experience with them?
I hated Michelin Pilot Super Sports so much I paid to return them. Very soft sidewalls I couldn't stand them. Wife exact quote when I drove her with them was 'How did you break the car?'
People claim you can over inflate them a bit and they are ok, but I don't do that and got some Potenza RA-11's I think and never looked back. Closest to stock Advans I could find.

Anyway OP, I'd think you should be fine having Costco mount them. I'd trust them more than my local Mr. Tire or something, especially if the tires you bought are an appropriate size for the wheel.
If they mess anything up on your brand new wheels, that repair bill would be coming from their pocket.
Yeah lol Ive only heard good things about MPSS's. Just sat in my friends e90 M3 the other day and they were gripping like a muhf*cker. pretty smooth ride too.
OP just let Costco mount them, you should be fine. Also RPF1's are cheap so you can always just buy another rim if you need to

Maybe I drive harder than the average man, but that foldover whiplash effect of the sidewall buckling ruined them for me.
If you like them run them! I require crazy stiff sidewalls for my driving
(personal preference)

With or without the instant savings limited time offer, Costco is cheaper than Sam's or Tirerack.

I bought the MPSS from Costco 2 weeks ago and had them install it on my car without any issues. I was a bit hesitant at first too since this was my first time using them for tire services but I'm glad I did. Plus, the instant rebate on Michellin tires right now make their tires very affordable.
I half agree on the MPSS's. I autocrossed them for a whole season. Sidewalls felt softer than what I was used to, however the grip in turns was excellent for the high treadwear rating. My guess is they were going for a grippy tire that still ride decent on rougher roads. It is not an extreme performance summer tire, the stock Advans are I believe.

Mpss
I just bought a set at costco full cost was $795 cheaper than alot of places for sure but the place I bought them is always busy I went at 10 am to get them installed 3 hour wait.I told them I'd come back sometime, not sure saving about 100 bucks over america's tire is worth having to wait so long to get them installed. But great price though.

I doubt theyll last 30,000 miles like MPSS will.
