I just dropped my tranny to install my new clutch (stock gave out at 74k) and I saw my flywheel had heat spots all over the damn thing. is it safe to resurface or just buy a new one?

 

Should be safe to resurface and use as long as there are no deep stress crack. I have personally resurface my own flywheel with no problem what so ever. I believe you can resurface it about 2-3 times before need to replace it entirely. But that all depends on condition. Hope this helps you.
