I just picked up a new final edition evo and I couldn't be happier with it. I leased it for 3 years so what ever mods I do to it must be reversible (I may or may not keep it) and I can't push crazy numbers but that's fine by me since I don't want this car to be that insane. I know modding leased vehicles is not the best choice but I'm going to do it anyway.
I've done a decent amount of research for mods but can someone tell me what else I need for this setup? I may either do a full ets exhaust with an open dump + quiet muffler or just keep the stock dp and just do the v2 regular exhaust since the DP may be stupid since I am keeping the turbo and turbo manifold stock. I am also going with the ETS intake. The turbo smart bov seems like a popular choice as well. This is my first turbo car so I'm not sure if I would need the Tactrix or cobb ap. I do want to get this car pro tuned at IveyTune so it doesn't blow up. I was considering an off the shelf e tune but I'm assuming a pro tune is better for obvious reasons. Is there anything else I should look into? Is it easy to re flash the ecu back to stock if or when I trade it in? Posting on the forums is my last resort since I think I can't find any more info out on my own. Sorry for being a noob and not knowing much about turbo'd cars but I don't want to mess this car up lol.
I'm going to daily drive this car so how crazy would the ets open dump be on this car? Does it open up whenever I have my foot down a lot and boost comes on? Or is it just always around 3k no matter how easy im taking it?
As for the car, it's a final edition with the exterior aero kit and the optional strut bar. 40k later..
Bang for buck-wise, you really don't need to replace your downpipe. Gains just aren't there on the stock turbo. Go for a pro-tune by Ivey via opensource, unless you really want an AP for some reason or another.
Also yes, you can easily get it flashed to stock when you go to trade in, via either opensource or AP (whichever you opt to use).
Like shek said above, open source is the way to go. So pick up a tactrix openport 2.0 and a set of gauges. You'll need boost and AFR at a minimum. Oil presure is a nice 3rd to add in there.
If you get the ETS intake, then I also suggest getting a UICP for the increase throttle response.
I recommend the ETS V2 exhaust with a test pipe to really open up the exhaust flow for some great gains.
I have an open dump, and it gets loud around 75% throttle. It has less to do with RPM and more to do with how hard you're on it. I'll be swapping mine out for a recirculating DP soon, since it's way louder than I want it to be in most situations (for example, when I'm just trying to pass on the highway, not blast them with the sound as well).
Let us know we would be glad to get it done for you.
Sean
Would I have to order all the parts I want from ETS for you guys to install or is that something you would handle? Also, I've been doing some research and is it possible to do a tune for pops and bangs when during decel and lifting off the throttle? I've seen a few evo x's tuned like that and I think it sounds awesome

That's what I'm afraid of. I still don't know if I am going to go open dp and the ets v2 quiet exhaust or just the v2 regular with the oem dp.
