Prices of 2015 X

I think there was a thread about pricing but not finding it now.

Do you guys know how hard dealers are trying to get rid of their existing inventory? How far off MSRP are they going? Possible to get a GSR for $30k? For mid 30's, I can get a low mileage 2013 S4, which makes the Evo less appealing.

The S4 is not in the same league as the Evolution in terms of performance and durability

Stock for stock the VW will be way more costly and break down. My 2010 GTI was fairly reliable but in general most of them had serious issues.

Get a VW if you want. Just a warning

I think the bigger issue is comparing a new car with a used 3 year old German car, at that. While we're talking used, why not get a LS3 Corvette for the mid $30s, which will blow the doors off both the Evo and S4 in every category? Do you see how flawed the new vs used argument is?

What about how cheap to make fast. Evo wins that category.

Sure you can find a 2007 z06 but it's not 4 doors not awd and it's probably more unreliable than the VW. The early ones had issues for years. Evolution is about handling if you aren't into that look elsewhere. Depends on what you want to do and more importantly what roads are available

I was actually agreeing with you that its stupid to compare new and used cars, but since you brought it up, pray tell how a LS2/3 Corvette is as unreliable as a VW, and less reliable as an Evo. I'm all ears.

Can't wait to hear the explanation behind this one.

I'm talking about the early LS7 ZO6 that you can get in the mid-thirties they had tons of issues not just engine issues.
