Normally, no. They can be made to do so depending on how you adjust your fuel and timing maps. It's not recommended, but if you must do it, do it only on a test pipe exhaust with no catalytic converter to burn up.

Fire + plastic back area = not worth it just to show off a bad tune. That said, big power guys with good tunes can shoot fire but you are at 500ish to do that and not be running a bad tune.

Hey guys, I've been fighting a check engine light for days now, pretty much since I bought the car now. The first code was for the cat being under threshold or something like that. So I bought non foulers and installed both from the package on the rear 02 sensor like in the picture above. Cleared all codes and a day later, today, and I get the p0171 too lean code. Did I do something wrong, or do I have another issue?

You need to get your cars tune checked out. Too many people trade in these cars after returning them to stock or removing any tune from the car.

How much are the e-tunes usually, because these are my only option? I'm not really prepared to have to buy the data logger....

What will happen if I leave it like this for a bit until I can get it fixed? I have a OBDII scanner to clear it. Would that help or make it worse?

There are a lot of good e-tuners, cost around 4-500. Not a good idea to run around with a check engine light and unsupported modifications. Bite the bullet and get a tune friend.

wtftuned.com , 5150 Racing, kozmic motorsports all do etunes I believe.

A tuner from another forum said $300. So I guess I'll get the Cobb AP tomorrow and get this thing going!

your car has a factory aero kit...unless the the scratches and scuffs are huge I would just give the car a thorough detail, (clay, polish, wax) before you go buying any body kit. You are going to slap some after market kit over the nice OEM one. The factory aerokit you have looks really aggressive once you drop the car and run some wider wheels. This way you can focus your money on getting rid of the CELs and getting the car to run right. Bodykits rarely fit 100% and unless you got someone you know in a body shop it will cost some money to put them on just right. My 2 cents.

You don't need a Cobb AP to e-tune your car...

That's for the base lancer.

Do this^. How bad are your stock bumpers? They don't look bad from the pics. Mine were also slightly scuffed by the previous owner. I had a bodyshop fix/touch them up. Good as new. I'd stay away from fiberglass, especially if it's your DD (since rock marks/chips annoy you). If you want to slightly change the look, check out some front lips and a fog light delete kit.

If you do a search, you'll see that on a stock X the fouler trick is a 50/50 shot. There's no guarantee that it will work. Best bet is to get it tuned like posted above.
