100WHP feeling?!!!!!

Hello

Like stated in the title, for those who have bolt on with tune and have gained roughly 100WHP over stock power, how is the feeling of the car? Is it that amazing? Is it night and day different? Will it pull me back in my lancer seat? Please express the feeling of the car and if it's worth it.

100whp is a day and night different. It's a very noticeable when I switch from 91 to E85 (just around 60whp different). It's worth it if you don't need warranty

It's actually made the car feel fun to drive. They are so completely slow out of the box. You'll think it should have came that way from factory. I could never have a stock Evo X again

A 100HP changes the character of any car. Do it.

Yea I notice on my stock evo x that it start losing power once I hit around 6@ rpm. Hopefully with bolt on and a tune it'll be faster

Stock turbo/cams are going to run out of steam above 6k regardless of tune/bolt ons. A good tune with bolt ons will just add a lot of oomph in the middle of the powerband, which is totally worth it.

It's not just the 100whp peak increase. A tune will change the entire power band and response of the car.

It's totally different than a stock tune, and in a good way.

EVO's should have come stock with another 100 WHP. The rest of the car can easily handle it.

If you don't want to void your warranty and want to smooth that out a lot, just get a drop in Cosworth air filter. Clears up a lot of that high end stumble. I wouldn't modify before you have 30k on the car to ensure you have no warranty issues prior.

It's night and day in the sense that the stock Evo feels slow. Bolt ons and a tune do indeed make the car feel fast. It will put you back in the seat and it can be exciting, however it's not as if it's a crazy amount of power. It still won't be in the same league as many other cars.

In a straight line you will get used to it quickly and it will eventually underwhelm again. That's just how cars go though, you always want something faster.

However, tuned and properly set up the car can absolutely do crazy fun stuff pulling out of turns. Going WOT while sliding through a hairpin as the car grabs traction is something you can't experience in most other cars. 100 additional WHP is the perfect amount for this, and you still aren't getting any lag from a bigger turbo etc.

Rocketing out of corners is where it's at and this is where the 100 extra whp is most exciting:

Major difference, especially with the Torque. If you still have a stock turbo it'll spool faster and hit harder longer.

30k is overkill, any defect should reveal itself by 10k.

Magnet in my MR SST didn't show itself until 25 and I modified at 20 lol. I would have waited 10k to save 3k!

100hp is alot of difference. Heck going from 350 on 91 to 400 e85 is a ton of difference eespecially with the amount of timing that is ran on e85. Your *** is timing sensitive.

Oh that's terrible. Well in most cases 10k is safe, I guess there's some exceptions.
