New to the Evo scene

Hey guys, bought a Graphite Gray 2008 Evo x sss package with 89k miles this last summer locally from a guy that was second owner, stock clutch was on the way out so figured I may as well upgrade to something better since I was planning on full boltons, replaced clutch with a Spec 3+ with competition lightweight flywheel, lasted about 100 miles, throw out bearing poped out, I figured was just a dud so ordered another one, replaced it, that one lasted 150 miles, at that point car went into the garage till this winter, so over winter car got a transmission with 10k miles, competition stage 2 clutch and flywheel, act monolock, love it so far... also did some maintenance while car was down,
ngk oem plugs
fuel pump relay
slave cylinder
master cylinder and awc pump just replaced under warranty
oil change
...so finally got around to installing all my boltons and got tuned on E85, car pulls like a beast but was a little disappointed with final number mods so far are
Ets Upic
Agp cold air intake
Turbosmart dual port bov
Depo 4'' ic
Grimspeed ebcs
Fic 1000
Aem 320 fuel pump

Got tuned on E85 by buschur racing, picked the car up yesterday, car made 336/351, I was expecting a bit more on corn but maybe expectations were a bit high, anyway, thanks for looking at my long boring post but looking forward to meeting you guys

Welcome glad you are enjoying the car. Do you not have a test pipe on the car?

Yea, I heard his dyno is the heartbreaker, I think baseline is around 220whp/230torque, so not a bad gain, was thinking maybe winter blend Ethanol might be a factor too?

Maybe. My flex fuel tune was on last year November, it was only e77.
You number definitely not bad, +116whp gains

Looking at the mods I'd say that's a pretty normal number.

What psi are you pushing that stock turbo to?

Peak boost, I've seen 22, then it tapers to 18-19, honestly, that's the amount of boost I had stock, I thought with E85, we could push it to 26-27 safely?

Yes you should be able to - perhaps there was something the tuner was seeing on the tables that kept him from doing that though. You should be able to safely push the stock TD05 to a max of 28 on 93oct for a short period of time. May have been playing it safe, shooting to make the engine as reliable as possible - Buschur knows whats up.

But to answer your question, currently I'm running pump 93 at 26 tapering down to 20 on my stocker without any issues. These things run out of air pretty quick.

Static-set,
Yea, I'll def take reliability over a bit more power any day, was just curious as to why my boost was so low, but def happy with the way the car feels, I might have to get a retune when summer blend comes out, or then just get a turbo a bit earlier😜

Damn, thats a shame your intro the scene was with a crappy transmission problem. But I'm glad things are working out for you now!

Lucky you for being able to run E85, the closest station for me is 40 miles away :/
