Do I really need an exhaust?
currently have ETS test pipe and MAP Downpipe with external dump. Its crazy loud at WOT. adding an exhaust to that setup will most likely make it even louder and dont want that as its my daily.
Will i really gain sufficient amount of HP by adding aftermarket exhaust over OEM? or am i better off building the head?
current setup:
ETS UICP, 3.5in IC, Intake, Test Pipe
MAP DP with external dump
grimmspeed EBC
Adding these mods next:
ETS LICP
FIC 1000 injectors
E85 compatible fuel pump
HKS hi power or Top speed pro1 exhaust --- do i need it?
flexfuel setup
currently tuned at 333whp/335tq.

I would say the exhaust will be worth 10-15HP. If you got our Quiet exhaust (which isn't necessarily "quiet") it won't be terribly loud. I had it on my car when it was on stock turbo with a test pipe and recirc down pipe and it was perfect in my opinion.

Any engine will stand to gain something from a proper diameter exhaust. Whether or not it's worth the money is your call.
At this point I have four different exhausts hanging up in my garage from various stages of what i thought sounded good - eventually my eardrums caved in and now for daily purposes I prefer the T1R Sparrow. Only a couple decibels louder than stock and allows for solid gains throughout the RPM range for just about any HP level our cars can see.

Is your external dump only for the wastegate? If you install a downpipe with a cut out that opens directly to the ground and you keep it open 100% of the time, then there would be no point in having an exhaust. Otherwise they are worth the purchase.
Figured as much, minimal gains.
maybe adding a hollowed out muffler will be a better choice?
Not sure how much quicker can the stock turbo spool but that's what i'm aiming towards.
What about an ALS option?

So let me get this straight, you have a screamer pipe but are concerned about a catback making the car louder? The 2' of straight piping, coming pre-turbo right off the manifold is gonna drown out any catback exhaust anyways, from which the noise is traveling through the turbine, through a bunch of piping and bends and a muffler or two.
Get a quietish catback so it's hardly louder than stock at idle and cruise and enjoy the top end gains where your screamer pipe will drown out the exhaust anyways. If you want quieter WOT pulls, you'll need to recirculate the wastegate section.

as others pointed it out, an exhaust won't really net much power.
Yes, you would "benefit" from a high flow catback, regardless of the "gains". It's more about flexibility and the setup you have doesn't have that.
With your current setup, at high boost you will have less or little to no wastegate flow and most of it thru the "restrictive" stock exhaust. On lower boost, more flow is out the gate and the gains from a catback upgrade would be progressively lower as the ratio of wastegate flow to total exhaust flow increases. So I'd say the gains "depend" on the boost levels you run actually.
Either way, with your planned mods to make more power you need more boost. That means less post turbine backpressure to make it happen.
