Evo x steering wheel install error code

Last time I removed steering wheel on Evo X I had Error Codes, damaged clock sensor and clock spring. Got it fixed at the dealer and put oem back on. I wanna tuckle that project again. I really want my Sparco steering wheel. Any advice how to remove oem steering wheel without getting errors/damage to a clock spring?

You need to disconnect the clock spring connector from the wheel before pulling the wheel off. It's been a while, but I think you can access it through pulling off the cowl around the wheel.
