I know this question has been asked probably around 100,000 times but I'd like to get some specific feedback. Especially because some of the threads I've seen are a few years old at this point. I've been a long time CBRD customer exclusively, but since the shop is gone now, I'm looking for a new tuner. Chad's shop was great because it was a 1 stop shop for everything, he'd fab the kits, spin the wrenches, and tune it. And most importantly it's been reliable. I know some tuners are fantastic, but that's really all they do, so I'm looking for a tuner/shop who can basically do the same thing as CBRD. Especially because my car is to a point now where further mods would involve pulling the block and reinforcing that and then going to a bigger turbo setup. If I can continue to just take the car to 1 shop in the Delaware/Maryland/Pennsylvania/NJ area, and let them handle all of that, then that's what I'd be looking for. So any input would be helpful, let me know what shops you guys go to and how your builds are running. Thanks!

If you had such good luck with Chad and CBRD, did you try the guy (John) that Chad was referring his past customers to after he sold the business? Just a thought...

Admittedly I haven't talked to him since after he initially sold and I wished him good luck on his new endeavor. However, I'm the type that like to see a certain amount of feedback on a shop before making a decision, even above a recommendation.

You could check out R/T Tuning https://www.rttuning.com. I know they work on alot of Subies and Nissans, but they also work on Evos. Great group of guys up there. There's also Iveytune http://www.iveytune.com, but their customer service is lacking.

I was surprised to see Chad close the business and become a Porsche salesman. CBRD seemed to have tons of business (and not just STIs and Evos) when I got my car set up two years ago.

Yeah, I honestly think he got bored, or lost the passion to work in the market. The shop was literally always packed, lol. But he's always been passionate about the porsche brand so when I saw he went to a porsche dealer it didn't surprise me much.

There’s tscomptuned in Pa does great work but kinda hard to get ahold of. There’s also STM in upstate NY who can handle whatever your looking to do as far as a build. Either are very good.

I'm probably in the same boat where i'd like to hear of a local reputable shop considering the evo platform shop specialties are drying up.

Even though they're mainly a Subaru and Porsche shop, i've used Mach V motorsports (www.machv.com) in Sterling VA before and they did good work. Any others i've used in the area i wouldn't use again unless i had to.

My engine died in 2018 (my fault), CBRD rebuilt it, and I picked the car up early 2019. By the time I had broken it in, (summer) Chad had transitioned to being part time at the shop and recommended JK.

I was really happy with my tune. John has a Mustang dyno (with the weather station working) so the numbers should be pretty comparable. I ended up making more power than previously, though it's a new motor and the SCCA ST* rules changed so it's not apples to apples.

He's tuned lots of Evos/STis among other things.

I've also heard good things about Moore Automotive but they are in the middle of moving their shop and still not open at the new location.
