Removing black Cloth Under Hood With Pins

Hello everyone,,

Can someone tell me the proper way for removing that entire black cloth literally under the hood? There are clips holding it in place it looks like but before I attempt it I would like some advice incase their is an easier way. The black "cloth" is so filthy it needs to be replaced but I don't even know what it is called. So I rather not have one.

When you lift your hood, its the cloth that is directly under the hood.

Do you just pull the clips back to remove it? I can not find a how to anywhere.

You have to squeeze the metal clips together and pull them out. I would recommend using some pliers since it takes a bit of force to get them out sometimes. Some of the black plastic tabs will snap when removing them, so be prepared to get some replacement ones if you're planning on reinstalling the scoop shield or hood liner.

If you download the service manual, they show you the removal procedure and how to remove all the clips in GR00005700-42A.pdf
