I haven't personally, but I did lots of research and this definitely fixes the problem. The circular plate in the OEM unit is aluminum and gets corroded beyond belief to the point it seizes. The other considerations you need to keep in mind are the state of the entire pump's exterior (they can get pretty nasty if not covered in some protective coating) and the fact that you'll have to bleed the pump's system if you remove it and do this replacement.

thanks! I actually went ahead and just did the replacement after Mitsubishi screwed and bent be over 3 times as I had no choice. The only place that did rebuilds was by Lake Erie in Ohio so that was out of the question. I now have to get a new water pump and crank pulley. My engine started to get warmer than normal so this is a fun experience as a first owner of an Evo. $7k deep so far and had it for 3 months.
