Clutch replacement 2021

So the clutch is slipping on my X and will need to be replaced soon. What is the going rate on clutch replacement with OE components these days? I've asked several places and got quotes from 1.6k to 2.7k, in NJ/NY/PA area. Curious what others here have paid.

Not sure where you are going. Clutch job is about 600 to 1k in labor depending on shop plus the price of a new clutch of your choice.

1500-2500 is not surprising. The one poster seemed to think that's high and then quoted 600-1000 for labor.

Add in the clutch, flywheel replacement or machining, throw out bearing, fluids, shop supplies, etc.. It could easily be 2500 depending on the clutch. Just a ACT HDSS clutch and its $700+.

Yea, if that is WITH the clutch, parts and fluids, 2k isn't that off. Figure around $1k in labor and $800-900 in parts if single disc clutch.

I recently had the clutch in my GTI replaced and it cost about $1800 all in, which I happily paid because clutch jobs are a pain in the ***.

I recommend IveyTune for all Evo related work in NJ. They installed an Exedy Twin for me. They charged me $750 for the install back in 2017. I assume this has gone up since then.
