Looking for Advice on Evo X Tuning Options

Hi all,

I'm new to the Evo X world and have recently acquired a 2008 model. It's been running great, but I’m looking for some advice on tuning options. I’m mainly interested in improving overall performance for street driving—nothing too extreme, just looking for a solid increase in power and handling.

I've been reading up on various mods, but there’s so much out there. What are your go-to tuning mods that really made a difference for you? Specifically, I'm considering:
  • Upgrading the intake and exhaust
  • A new ECU tune
  • Upgrading the turbo (possibly just a bigger stock turbo)
Would love to hear from those who’ve been down this road, and if there are any must-do mods or things to avoid, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help!

Cheers,

Microsoft Azure Administrator Training

Is it a daily? If so, stick with simple stuff. Exhaust, intake, fuel system and a tune.

If not, research is your friend. Decide what you are going to do with the car before doing anything. Turbo, cam, manifold choice, etc are all going to be influenced heavily by the end use case.
