*Official* don't like the X thread
 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS THREAD IS AN ATTEMPT TO TRY TO BRING SOME LEVEL OF PEACE TO THE "FUTURE EVO MODELS" FORUM...

It seems like their is a trend growing with people who don't like the new car jumping into every thread and dissing the new car. And, rightfully so, the guys that like the new car get offended. It's like telling someone that their child is ugly. Never going to get a good response.

So, for any of the folks that don't like the X...please use this thread to voice your opinion about what you don't like, what you would change, etc. etc.

I'll start with this thought...

IMHO it's really simple why many current Evo owners may not like the new X...because Mitsu didn't design the X for current Evo owners. They've come out and admitted it. They have a new target audience and designed the car appropriately for that new audience. It will be a great car for that audience. So, of course, many current Evo owners on this forum won't be happy with the new car because it wasn't designed with them in mind.

Was the 8 or 9 ever used in rally competition? If it did or not... the 9 really is the last "RALLY"-bred Evos. The X is rally "INSPIRED" <-- wtf is that. I love to shift gears... i hate b****stick. The first car i was in with that was the acura rsx & honda prelude... what a joke. Its not fun if you cant break the passenger's neck with every shift.

X=mm not so much IX=Best!

i'm glad i got my Evo IX MR SE because the new Evo's look whack. it's already been said that they look too much like the regular lancers, which is retarded. i want people to know that i spent $30k on a turbocharged AWD car, and not just think i put some fancy parts on a regular lancer gts. i HATE the tail lights. i think they put them way too high on the trunk. makes them look like mazda 3's. the front view of the car looks good at some angles, but as soon as i see it from the back the tail lights kill it!

lmfao i know what you mean! the first time my girlfriend rode in my Evo i noticed her head bobbing after every shift. at first i thought i was just accelerating too fast before every shift, but my friend with an RSX says that happens with every passenger. haha.

looks aside, they facts stand that all driving tests have said that the new evo has lost its "evo feel". The steering is no longer as sharp and the car is now heavier. Not only that but i dont know why in gods name mitsu would change out the 4g63. i Mean it is, arguably, one of the best hp/liter engines ever made. No we are stuck with a turbocharged version of the aluminum lancer engine. DOWNGRADE, at least for myself and evo owners like me. We dont want a watered down version of the evo for the older wankers out there.

Im waiting for evo xii, j/k ,same thing evo ix is the last evo!

Would you trade ur car for a X with a 4g63 swap? And how much boost can that aluminum block handle? oh yeah... 4B11 stants for "4 B**** 1o1".

Evo (any of 1 to N-1, take your pick) would be the last true evo
if evo (N) were to be released.

I just don't like the look of the car, althought the front is growing on me. I wouldn't mind having the drivetrain of the X on my IX. I think the X will make a better DD than the IX so in that respect I would go X over IX.

SST also sounds pretty cool too but i wont if the 6-speed on the X is gonna have the same limitations that the 6-speed on the IX... I won't dis the X or people that like the X but for me the IX is where its at (especially once its paid off :))

If the X looked better I wouldn't mind it...there is actually a photoshopped image of what the X should have looked like...I just got into the whole eVo game and to me if the X was already out when I purchased my IX I still would have chosen the IX based on its looks alone...The IX is more aggressive and it appeals to me more...I don't want an eVo that everyone and their mammas is going to drive...I want something that not everyone has yet it turns heads...I'm not even gonna get into the new motor tranny thing as those things have not been tested or proven yet...but looks alone speak loud...
