Time to do my 1st oil change.:D I decided to do mine at 1200miles. 1265 to be exact..
http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...8/IMG_0236.jpg
Now I see why its important to have rubber pads on the jacks..

Oil left on the 5th quart. Total amount 4 3/4 quarts..

your jack matches the car...how cute. haha

Your using mobil 1 'extended performance', how many miles do you plan to ride before the next change?

Robevo RS Feb 13, 2009 04:37 AM

good choice on the extended one!
But change it 3K as usual. :)

dek0026 Feb 13, 2009 05:58 AM

just did mine the other night. how annoying is it to have to put that underpanel piece back on? maybe i am just lazy.

Spy007 Feb 13, 2009 07:05 AM

lol... thats funny ****. Not only does the jack match, but the funnel does too!

Ok... so what if I already have the blue funnel and was looking at the blue jack the other night too.... Blue is a nice color dammit!

I was going to change mine too, and I did a search for some oil filters... they are the same as the VIII's and IX's it says? Funny.

Curt@MrLed Feb 13, 2009 09:26 AM

Avatar gives that away.

it'd be nice if they have one universal size, and all we have to do is pick the brand

is the extended performance full synthetic? i always had the idea that it was only part synthetic.

Western_man Feb 13, 2009 10:18 AM

:lol: It happens to be coincidental. That the jacks and funnel are blue..
That said, yes the Mobil 1 Extended Performance is 100% synthetic. It costs a little bit more than the regular Mobil 1 5w 30 oil. So I figured it must be a bit better to.. I plan on doing future oil changes every 3500-4000 miles, and sticking with OEM oil filters..

Methodical4u Feb 13, 2009 10:34 AM

how about the AMSoil? Anyone use that stuff?

Gamble97 Feb 13, 2009 10:37 AM

Castrol gtx non synthetic is the only way to go.

there was an accusation some time ago saying that mobil changed their synthetic formula, and after testing it found the synthetic oil was no better than regular oils...or something to that extent. i should go dig for that article again. but i've been using valvoline full syn on all my cars since then...maybe i'll switch to royal purple just for the evo.

you do know that there's a label on the engine bay that says full synthetic only, right?
