MR - Car doesn't move in drive?

I also posted this in the TC-SST forum.

I washed my car the other day then pulled it back into the garage where it sat for 2 days. This morning I get in, start her up, and after about 30 seconds or so of warm up put the car in drive. I hit the gas, the engine revs, but the car does NOT move. I try again about 3 times revving a little higher and nothing.

It feels like the car is in neutral even though it's supposed to be in gear. Has anyone experienced this before? What can I do when this happens? I'm going to try it again later but I'm a tad nervous.

wow that sucks

Maybe because you last washed your car, the rotors start to rust and are sticking to your brake pads. This is common for alot of us.

but he rev the car
and the car feels like its in neutral
have u tried using reverse gear or what?
trying fideling with it before u contact the dealer or whatever

Evo Tengoku my rotors definitely did rust. Naturally after a drive that all goes away.

So it's possible this could be the reason then? If indeed it is what do I do?

Will it go into reverse? If you are able to reverse but then afterwards not drive forward, there may be other issues. But from the car wash and sitting for a couple days, sounds like the brake pad material on the rotors just rusted like normal.

Let us know what happens.

Evo Tengoku Jun 9, 2009 11:25 AM

The first time it happened to me, I had no idea what to do. I was parked in the garage and needed to reverse out. I kept revving and it wouldnt move. I had people help push the car and no luck. Eventually I cleared the driveway of other cars, rev'd and let the clutch out pretty fast. That broke loose the rotors.

lol@ launch it out of the garage. I seriously can't stop laughing at work. I'm sure my neighbors would love that.

I'll definitely try again tonight. Any other helpful responses?
