umm my turbo isn't spooling

ok so i just installed a UICP, LICP, BOV pipe, Intake, and Turbo inlet pipe.

Everything went smooth. Was driving testing it out, and got on it about 3/4 WOT. Heard a different whistle type noise (not the intake or turbo noise) got to about 20psi and the premature blow off. Rolled into the driving so that i would not get on boost.

re-tightend all the couplings that hold all the pipes together and took her back out. now i get no boost at all. i took it to about 4k and got no boost (literally on the AP it went to .04 psi, and no spooling sound at all)

any ideas?

Plug the boost solenoid back in? BOV correctly installed?

yep. Only think i didn't tighten more was the lower intercooler pipe. Going to go get under the car and double check it.

yep lower intercooler pipe came off on the intercooler side....how much damage did i cause?

Evoardo IX Nov 25, 2010 08:49 AM

not any damage really... did any CEL's come on? just plug everything tight (use some hairspray on the pipes) and t-bolt clamps, and you are good to go.

twabtoxer Nov 25, 2010 08:51 AM

you should be ok bro. do yourself a favor do a boost leak test to make sure theres no leaks.

oftheheavens Nov 25, 2010 08:54 AM

no codes or cels, and no hard driving after it happened.

unfortunately no hairspray in the house.

how do i do boost leak test?

max4rw Nov 25, 2010 08:56 AM

this is so common when changing out the stock plumbing! it will more than likely happen again, get rid of your under tray and always carry around a small set of tools! this way if it happens again and your a ways away from home you can easily fix and be back in business!

+1 on carrying some tools with you, you never know when you'll pop an intercooler pipe. You can also unplug your MAS to limp the car home easier.

Get some new clamps, they don't hold well after they've been tightened down once already.

oftheheavens Nov 25, 2010 09:28 AM

got all new clamps and silicon dealies...

got the cobb hardpipe kit, it came with upgraded clamps and all.

how do i do a boost leak test though? anyone know?

Jon H Nov 25, 2010 11:54 AM

It's all in a matter of how you search. :)
