i need to know which route with my gsr would be best before i get tuned again

im currently running the following mods

ams short ram intake
t1r ic pipes
gm ebcs
turbo xs catless tbe
dw 850cc injectors

and i just ordered the kelford 214-b cams with the springs

my question is would i see more hp with the ets 3.5" intercooler or leave it stock because it wont matter for the hp im gonna make until i get abigger turbo

Wal 255 fuel pump and E85 >>>>> Cams or IC
i believe the stock IC is good up to 500hp, but you can get ~10 out of a better flowing one

You will probably get a few more hp from running an IC. Probably about 10, maybe 15hp if you are lucky.

The stock IC is fairly good for the stock turbo.

I'm pushing 382 HP with the mods in my sig

Kanweezy Jul 21, 2011 11:55 AM

That's to the wheels

How much did all those mods cost you? Im a newbie with a 2011 GSR.
Thanks.

Kanweezy Jul 25, 2011 11:07 AM

like 3.5g? but keep in mind its not all at once

You want the IC, not just for power but to avoid heat soak. When the air is hotter outside the stock IC is not as efficient and you'll lose HP faster than with a better and bigger IC, even with a stock turbo.

Do injectors and fuel pump too, as noted.

a newfuel pump isnt really all that necessary apparently on evo x's as the stock is already pretty efficient unless you plan on upgrading to a bigger turbo and puttng down serious power

gonna need to see a dyno chart to believe that. That's 480hp at the crank. From intake, TBE and piping? On pump gas? No you aren't. Not a chance.

I would say intercooler. Not only will you get a little more power out of the car but you should also notice your boost staying a bit more consistent. At least I noticed that it held boost better in my IX MR with a TBE,ETS I/C with all the piping, and a HKS intake. BTW I am making 340WHP/366WTQ@25 PSI on a Dyna Pack Dyno which I think is about 320-325 WHP/335-340WTQ on other dynos. I am making this power with a ARC FMIC,HKS I/C piping,AEM intake,Invidia Catted DP,Invidia N1.
