How To Cam installation
As for a how-to, the best thingto have is the service manual. Another great help would be photos, but the service manual gives all the important specs, etc.
I thought the cams on the X were easier than the VIII's and IX's. It took longer since it was the first set I've done, but now having done it, I would rather do cams on a X.
The worst part (in my opinion) is the possibility that you'll have to get halfway through it and wait for parts because it may be necessary to order new valve tappets to get the proper clearances.
On the one I did, I measured all the clearances with the new cams installed and, quite luckily, we didn't need to order new tappets.

Working on my JUN cam install now and taking pics as I go. Actually not really that bad but I would recommend an engine cradle to hold motor up since you have to remove passenger side mount. I'll post up some stuff as soon as I'm done taking it all apart. Could have gotten them out yesterday but girlfriend was coming over so had to get cleaned up.
I THINK I didn't make sure the cam bearings were seated before torquing. That is the only thing I can think of. Cracked right in half and you can't order new one since they are line bored to the head. You can reline hone it if yu have a spare but they don't provide one from Mitsu. Ordered new one and is being ported by my buddy Dan at DPR Racing. www.dprracing.com
