Rotor Install/Caliper Removal
There are three bolts on the back and one holding the brake fluid line, for a total of four. Posted this question in the pad change thread but started a new thread as it is a different proceedure and will come up as a different search.
Pad change was easy. As for rotor change, what do you do with the fluid line and caliper while changing the rotor? How do you support the caliper as to not stress the lines? Hanging it to the spring with a hook, or supporting it from below with a paint can? What is the tq for the bolts holding the caliper to the spindle? What is the middle or third bolt for? Just the standard questions for a new car and first time change.

you do not to remove the bolts holding the brake line to remove the rotors or change the pads. only for the rear you can either remove those bolts holding the brakie line or just take the rotor out with the caliper then put it back as a whole once youve changed the parts/rotors.
Again, haven't done this on the X, but that's what I do on my E36 M3. I'm really looking forward to doing brake pad changes without having to take the caliper off of the rotor...

The fronts were pretty easy though. I will probably post up a how-to after I am done getting everything fixed.
How bad did it get when you did that. I just did that to mine, and I can here a rumbling noise from the rear rotor. Stupid me! for not reading the forums before I did it. Needless to say, I put everything back and am waiting for roadside assistance to take it to the dealership to fix.
