Rust on exhaust..

I was looking at the polished stainless steel tips on my Buschur exhaust on my X and noticed a few rust spots forming. Is there anything I can use to remove the rust and is there anything I can apply to them afterwards to help protect them?

rust remover gel works great as it sticks and holds for 5 minutes so it can do its thing. then lightly wet sand with a 1000 - 2000 grit paper. hit the whole tip with metal polisher to finish.

just keep salt off the metal and you should be ok. you can wax it but i doubt it will stay for long durations because of the heat.

I saw the thread title and assumed you also had the Buschur exhaust.

I washed my car this past weekend and I noticed the same rusting on the tips. I would also like to know how to protect them so I'm not applying rust remover and polishing the tips every couple of weeks.

Zoop Seal lasts over a year. I used it on my jeep wheels with great results. It works on stainless or chrome.
