A-pillar gauge pods

Found this link surfing for any how-to solution to the lack of mounting locations for the X. Still not sure if, I'm just going to get a Cobb, and just be done with it or maybe try this once it warms up. Hope this may help someone!

Problem I see with the Cobb, like the last Cobb I owned, I didnt want to leave in car. Once its married to your car you need it to flash back to OEM and or change maps. I kept mine safe in my closet. So mounting gauges in a factory looking setup is what I need. And as far as GlowShift, this is the email response I recently recieved:

Hello, At the moment the only thing we have are universal pods for your vehicle.Thank you

Andrew

The air bag in the pillar will be your problem with trying to mold universal pillar pods in.

No problem with the airbags. Please do not spread misinformation. This has been discussed many time and I thought put to rest. The a-pillar is teathered in 2 spots and WILL NOT blow off when airbag deploys. Airbag deploys out and sideways, not out and towards driver.

Quit spreading this rumor. The airbag does not deploy through the pillar.

Ive taken my A Pillar off a few times. I have gauges mounted on the A Pillar.
You're still wrong. Ive seen what happens when the air bags deploy, and the A Pillar is intact.

So do you have yours labeled SRS also, or is nothing on your pillar covers?

Btw, do you have a how to on the "free wastegate mod"?

I have the SRS label on my A Pillar.

08+ lancers also have the same Airbags. Ive seen an 08 Lancer with all the airbags deployed the A Pillar was still strapped tightly to the frame.

Wow, now I'm interested in this and will have to pull my pillar cover in the morning. Can you pm me with the how to on the free wastegate mod?

the airbag deploys along the door window. the a pillar opens enough to allow the bag to come out. There is no violent explosion that shoots those pillars across the cabin of the car... that would defeat the purpose of the bag itself.

I don't have it, but there was a video showing all the airbags being deployed in testing and clearly showed the a pillar guards barely moving at all. If you are scared that everyone is wrong and u are right, then don't mount guages there... that's why its your car, you can do w/e u want.

Yeah, that's what I realized when I saw the curtain bags and then pulled my pillar cover this morning. It completely has changed what I thought about putting guages in those covers. I'm actually really happy that the airbags come out like that, and I will be picking up the lotek a-pillar guage pod shortly.
