How to Replace Fender Plastic Vents with Rexpeed Carbon Fiber Vents (with Pics)

I had some time this weekend and decided to do a how to on the installation of the Rexpeed carbon fiber fender vents. It’s very easy and fast. The thing that took the most time was finding out what tools I needed and the location of the screws holding the stock piece. I’m sorry if the file is too big for any of you (it’s only 500K) but I wanted to use big detailed pictures. Please let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

Here’s the link to the pdf file I made: How to Fender Vents

Below you will find some before and after pics.

Yes I am. Thanks. I didn't know there were so many evos around this area. When the weather gets better we should have an Evo meet and invite all the Evos in the Utah area.

Hey that's a cool write man. Thanks. I did thought the carbon fiber pieces would have been more secure though...i.e reuse clips or something instead of just 3M tape. My concern is with car washes or something crazy that will knock that piece off. I had bought the Varis Carbon Fiber vents because at the time that was the only ones available. I don't want to lose a $300 dollar vent, you know?

Iv replaced those vents before, and all i used was flat head screwdriver. you can pull them off from the front without needing to access the back or take out the screws. warranty time is .4 for both. but you did do it the safest possible way! good write up!

While those pieces look great on the car, they don't look like they flow as much as the stockers.

Read the full pdf review, studied some service manual diagrams, and finally decided to do a hybrid version of these two people's methods! All I did was use my hands. No fender removal or screwdriver technique! Those screws actually just hold the plastic snap "clip-ons!" I just started from the middle of the vent, popped it out, then worked the rest of it slowly. It took me roughly a careful 3 - 5 minutes per side. I super reinforced both side vents with the provided and some of own 3M tape as one of my vents wasn't as fitting as the other side, and needed to be bent a little to fit... I hope it stays on!

This thread is the best!! Thanks guys!
