Help with FMIC install (Pic included)
Just stating, the way the 2010 intercooler mounts is different from the way the 2008 intercooler mounts. On AMS website, you are able to specify which year you have, as the mounting on both intercoolers are different. Not sure if this applies to you though.
just went threw the install myself. Here's my original post from the "OTHER" forum.
Got home early from work, the Evo was in the driveway and my son was just hanging out. Plenty of daylight and it was a nice cool day (Florida) so I decided he should open 1 gift Xmas eve.
Front clip removal was easy. we followed the video from this thread and its worthy of a bookmark.

AGP FMIC - Ben offers up a really nice product at a great price. Packaging was good and came complete w/ hardware and instructions. We opted for Black lettering.
The OEM FMIC came off without a hitch once we realized we had to push the black under tray down and remove the LICP bolt. We did remove the OEM UICP piece that connects to our Speed Circuit Hot Pipe.
As we go to install the AGP, we read the instructions and I quote
"step 2. Remove the doohickey thingy that is mounted with 4 bolts below the radiator. see pic below"
but the pic pointed the way and off it came.
Its a weight! I wonder if other IC makers have you remove it? The AGP is heavier than OEM so it makes sense plus you use the holes to bolt up the IC lower bracket. Once these bolts are tightened up the IC centers itself perfectly.
Daylight faded so the front clip won't make it on until tomorrow. Time for dinner and in our house its always lasagna on Xmas eve. Yum, gotta go.
