The shorter shifts come from the relocated pivot point and not from the actual reduced height of the shifter

As for the base bushing and cable bushings, they make an awesome difference. Like the OP posted, they remove the play that is found with the OEM rubber bushings. I've personally tried the short shifter with the base bushings and the difference is incredible. It feels so much more direct and connected! If anyone orders them I'm sure they will feel noticeable changes in the feel of the shift assembly!

The effort required to engage gears is slightly more then stock. It's barely even noticeable. The EVO X shifter is one of our best selling products and people always love the feel!

Note: Why do people quote a 3 page long writeup to say one thing?

I have had the TWM shifter for about 300 miles too. Its awesome. And i would highly recommend the bushings if you order this.

I played around with the shifter once I got it in and left the stock bushings in and I was expecting it to shift fairly smooth. It was not as smooth as I was expecting at all tho. Then I drove back and put the bushings in and it shifted much smoother. They make a big difference. This totally took away my 3rd gear grinding issue.

Anyone planning on ordering this for christmas is in for a quality product with extremely fast shipping. I ordered this on Monday and got it today, I'm very happy. A friend of mine has this installed on his X and have had a direct comparison from his to mine and I wish I had made this my first mod.
