Just thinking but... if I use only one catch can, with a T tube, head head - can, it will work? Assuming that can be a different pressure in the 2 parts of the engine connected togheter, that will be always higher that the one in the tank due to intake pressure so I think there will be only one flow direction. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd say about a hour it would have been quicker but my hose cutters
Weren't very sharp so it took longer to cut straight.

Does it run the same after install or does it require a remap of any kind? I was planning on putting one on mine but was unsure if it would effect its running etc as the UK models seem to have different maps?

To my understanding it doesnt require any changes in the map. Ive ask this question to tuners and they all say no.

Cheers,

I believe he is right.

Should be the pcv valve from the crankcase.

There are quite a few people running one or two catch cans. I would think that one is better than none? So I went this route you can always add another.

It was done intentionally. That breather line dumps the nastiest oil sludge right into the turbo (literally 3 inches from the compressor) via the intake. The goal is maintaining the longevity of the turbo and intercooler by keeping oil out.

you should take your inlet tube off and look right at the turbo compressor wheel, i bet there is going to be no oil present. now take off your map sensor on your intake manifold and peek inside the manifold, there is going to be a **** load of oil present there.

air goes in from the breather hose and out the pcv, you guys should be routing the pcv hose instead of the breather.

Actually, I only decided to solve this issue AFTER replacing my IC & IC piping and finding a layer of oil on everything (including the turbo inlet/outlet). Then after 1 track day I looked at the catch can, low and behold a 1/2" of the nastiest sludge ever; now noticably absent from my turbo, piping AND intercooler (most important part). But thanks for telling me it's pointless

Let me guess, you only drive your car in straight lines on perfectly flat roads.

I'm not disputing the pcv is also a good idea, simply your assumption that mine is worthless

I picked up the Saikou Michi Dual Stage 1 kit and did both. I've emptied it once after about 3,000 miles of spirited driving no track time and go about 1/2" in the bottom of a glass that was just gas and oil.....this came only from the pcv side passenger side opened the breather side (intake side) and there was nothing. I would suggest if you are going to do a catch can do them both and at the least do the passenger pcv side. Just my 2 cents.

have you guys done this on the 2010 model? the valve cover is not metal and the breather port is bigger than the one in the picture (2008). The cusco hose is too small for it so i reroute it to the other side...

here are some picture.. let me know if this set-up is okay to run.

^ This is how i have it for now.. i'll prby get the hose to re-circulate it back to burn it. Would you guys have done what i did here? if not, why?

you should have the hose coming out of the cusco can go back into your manifold, instead of blocking that factory hose
