How To: Plasti-dip your front Badge

So i've had a couple people on here say they want me to plastidip their front Mitsu Badge. So I actually did it to mine and took a couple pics. This takes 5min of time, the rest is waiting between coats.

Tape off your front grill, I used patriotic napkins, cause i love 'Merica

Apply a couple (3-4) coats evenly

BE CAREFUL when peeling the tape off because it will peel the plastidip too. Use a sharp knife to make sure the paint doesn't peel off

After you peel off....WIN

Next up will be Plasti-dipping my fog light surrounds, this will be a bit harder. but not much

best part about plasti-dip is if you don't like it, you literally just peel it off :afro:

Nice job man! I'm thinking of doing this to my red Evo, but instead of a black emblem, what do you all think of a matte red emblem for some contrast against the black grille?

Did this to mine as well. Make sure if you wash it off that you get all of the water/alcohol out of the cracks around the edge of the emblem. It will peel right off.

Hey that's a great idea! I'm gonna start playing with Plasti Dip on my car everywhere now starting with the emblems then the wheels and dashboard. I heard this stuff is great and adheres to almost anything very easily.

So plastic dip makes a "dip" basically an open top container and they have spray cans. Are you guys spraying the badge or painting the "dip" on with a brush?

The open top containers are intended to be used with the plasti-dip spray guns (so you can plasti-dip a whole car, the same way you'd paint one).

This was probably done with the plasti-dip rattle can.

I think this stuff would look pretty good with the front bezel material.

That site has some neat stuff^

Yeah people are using the spray cans for small items like this. You can buy matte black from Lowe's Home Depot in the spray paint section.
