Clutch install questions

Ladies and gents,

I am installing a clutch in my Evo X and it is a struggle. I am following the Maperformance guide and it is extremely helpful.

I have a couple of questions.

Do I need to remove the downpipe as described? I am coming to the conclusion that this only applies to an aftermarket O2 / downpipe combination. This after 4 hours working on that difficult nut behind the O2 housing :-)

Does the starter have to come off?

Any concerns with the ACD if I pinch the hose as suggested?

There may be more but after 8 hours I have just got to the stage where O2 bolts are loosened and the axles are out!

Thanks,

Jim M.

meh, you learn by doing it. I attempted doing it myself but after not having the correct tool the first time and running into a issue the second time i paid the dealership $1500. 3 weeks later i ripped my engine apart....

$1500 down the drain.

This is true.. I just dont have the space, tools, or anyone near me who is experienced to help. Hows the build coming along? If I remember correctly we talked a while back about your blown motor because of my disaster

all you need is tools..lol. I pulled my engine, tranny and tcase out and apart in my apartment parking lot on jack stands by myself going by MAP's how-to for the clutch and then going taking it one step at a type for the rest of it. Just finished pulling my buddies engine out of his evo. He blew it up good, got like 4-5 holes in the block. As for mine, havent really made any progress. I'm buying my buddies head and tomei cams on the 15th. He is just going to get a whole new long block.
