AMS Clutch Master Cylinder

I have been reading about some of the failures with the clutch master cylinder and will a turbo kit on the horizon and upgraded clutch I am wanting to take some syeps to be sure that I dont have a issues with mine. Im looking at the AMS kit that uses the Evo 8-9 master cylinder. Anyone else used it? How hard is it to install? Doesnt look to hard just getting it to bleed seems to be a problem for some. Is the full kit needed or will the AMS ring work just as well or since its out just do the whole thing and not worry about it?

I have the AMS peice on mine. It's a time consuming project but not "hard". The PITA part is bleeding the brakes and clutch afterwards. Also it might make a squeak everytime you push the clutch peddal. I am working on a fix for that so Ill keep you posted.

I have the AMS kit with the evo8/9 MC. Pretty easy to install just time consuming. Took me about 5 hours total.

I've thought about the the SSP one. My Evo is still brand new. So not too worried about
it. But I know it's hit and miss for when these fail.

We have had several stock clutch Evo Xs towed in here with stock clutch master cylinders that failed so it is definitely hit or miss and really is just a matter of time.

I replaced my OEM clutch with the ACT ME1HDSS & Streetlite & AMS stainless line at 27k. I gave the dealer the AMS retainer ring to install too but the tech for some reason couldn't follow simple instructions...needless to say he never slid it on. Just last night at 50k miles the cmc blew apart. I'm just gonna buy a used OEM one and use the ring for now. I'll upgrade to the SSP or AMS at some point though. I just need to get out of a spot right now.

Any write ups on how to swap the OEM one??

I have the map kit with 8/9 cmc and it is awesome however the cmc i believe is going bad because my clutch pedal sticks 1/4 of the way in when i release the clutch so i called MAP and i just had to pay $70 for a new 8/9 CMC and when i return the failed one i get a full refund!!! MAP is awesome and awesome customer service! However doing this upgrade has been the biggest PITA that i have encountered on this car and i dont quite a bit on it like a turbo/mani swap and still the CMC upgrade was 10X worse than that!
