I was never able to get enough clearance to get that washer on. I took it to my local tuner shop and they were not able to either. They said it couldn't be squeezed together anymore and there just wasn't enough clearance. They would have to shave some of it down to get the clearance needed for that washer.

Man... I changed out the shifter cable bushing this weekend as well, but there was just no way I could get the oem plastic retainer off on the smaller bushing. Eventually I just gave up. I tried prying it out with a flathead, create a gap, but that was it. I dont understand how using a needle nose plier would help. Since WORKS shifter bushing kid does not come with a replacement for this plastic piece, i didnt want to break it. Does it make a huge difference switching out the bushing on this smaller arm?
