Can you post some photos for me of it at night and also the cam quality from the navi. I'm still waiting for mine to get here and I'm pretty sure I bought the same one as you. Takes like 3 weeks to arrive lol. I'm debating on whether I want to install it myself or just have the shop do it for like $100. I bought two different sets of LEDs because they're $1 each and take forever to ship so I want to make sure I get a matching one. Can you also link me to which LED you ended up buying?

Sorry bro. I just saw this post. I'm on my iPhone now but I have a pic of my camera and the shot from my screen. It's not at night though. At night, it's just as clear. But I also installed projector led reverse lights. So I light up the back especially with led license plate light. In this pic, the install is so clean you can barely see the camera above the license plate! Lemme see if I can load pics from my phone....

Btw I installed it myself in the garage. I borrowed the how to on how to swap the radio. Other than that, I spliced in based on the op and all went well. I didn't plan on pulled the rear bumper down but I pulled it off enough to do a professional looking job to wire in the led license plate light that comes with the camera. The camera lnstalled light is almost like a purplish white. I went through my bin of led's and used one that is the closest I could find. I love this camera so much! Works awesome. Bumper sensors would be nice but that's too much work to drill. I'll get those pics later! Pm me if you have any other questions.

I have the Oem camera on my my car and I want to replace it with an aftermarket one. I'm installing a do luck trunk and I want to install a flush mount camera under the duck tail so I can see the bumper, like the Oem one.

I'm trying to work out the wireing and I keep reading conflicting information. Can anyone advise please. It is an Australian car.

The first picture below is the camera side of the harness and the second is the other side going to the Nav unit.

The wires are connected as follows
Camera side. ------ Nav side
White. --- To. ---- Grey
Black. ---- To ---- Light blue
2 joined blacks to. -------Red
Yellow. ---- To --- Green
Red. ----- To --- Yellow

The aftermarket camera has the video and power cables, how would these hook up to the harness wires

Many times, harnesses are slightly different between jdm, usdm, edm, and audm. I can't tell what's what on yours compared to mines but use the OP's pics as a reference. Also, if I were you and had the factory camera, it's no use to you anyway once you swap the trunk so I would use the wires from that and wire it to the camera in the new trunk. The harness should pop out from the left side of the car and go into your trunk. Your aftermarket camera should have 3 wires. Ground, 12v, and the camera power. Just check which wire is which from your oem camera, then trace them back to the main harness that enters your trunk. You will only have to play with two wires to figure it out. Ground will be black so that eliminated. Hope that helps.

^^^.

Thanks, the challenge is that the Oem camera has 5 wires effectively and the aftermarket has 3 typically. So something doesn't match. Trying tongues the possible combos would be a challenge as there could be 75 different combinations. I'll keep digging.

ive dealt with that before where oem wiring had extra wires than aftermarket. your best bet is to get a wire diagram solely for the camera. that way you know what wire is what and which wire requires what (ground, 12v, signal only, etc). maybe your dealer can hook you up. Im willing to bet that the extra two wires are either not needed, or can be joined together with another while you connect it to the aftermarket wiring. bottom line is that your aftermarket only needs 3 wires to be connected. so you only need to identify those three. The other two might be unncecessary and can be dead ended.

I dont see why not. I have a 2013 EVO X GSR. Im pretty sure mitsubishi didnt change the electronics for the radio knowing they were in the last years of production. Should be the same.

soflancer.com appears to be down, and I can't find a copy of the "backcam.pdf" that was hosted there. Does anyone have a copy saved that they can repost or PM to me? Thank you!

it will not work without a screen to monitor it. you can buy one of those aftermarket set ups that come with a separate monitor but thats the closest you will get. you have to get the navigation set up to work it. a bunch of guys are selling it in the private sales section. the evo is wired for it but it does no good to you for the camera if you dont have the oem screen.

Hey guys, I recently installed a backup camera but I have 2 guidelines showing up right now. I can't turn off the guidelines in the camera I bought. Is there a way to turn off the guide/grid lines in the 2015 evo mr non-navi monitor at all?

Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi

No you can't disable the guidelines, its embedded with the camera signal.
