Well they're actually hollow on the other side, it cuts off right were the lip visibly ends in the pic. As this is a DD and will not see track time (my IX is the track *****), there was no need to lower the car further and scrape the crap out of the lip. The wheel/tires combo fits perfect with almost "0" rubbing. The only rub occurs at full lock and it rubs the mud flaps a bit.

I put the flaps on in the winter to help with the snow and crud with the intention of taking them off this spring, but I don't know-they've kind of grown on me plus they have been effective in reducing chips.
