A little under hood bling!
Yea, I would not make any decisions yet on how it is going to look. Thinks always look like crap until it all starts to come together.
I do think however that it might be a bit more challenging to get the X looking good under the hood as compared to the VIII-IX. It seems to be a bit "busier" at first glance, but this is not to say that it cannot be done by any means. I have always been a fan of a clean engine bay, even if it means just that...clean. I hate it when people open up the hood on a sparkly car to find a grimy dingy engine and bay.
My last Evo was a WW VIII and EVERY time I cleaned the car I opened the hood and went at it with Simple Green or something similar. It was a pia sometimes as everything showed on the white paint, but it sure did look good. It looked even better after I put a 690 battery under my pass seat instead of in the engine bay and polished all of my self fabricated ic piping. I also tucked the harness that went to the injectors/manifold sensors and ran the throttle cable under the manifold. All of the sudden in looked unincumbered and CLEAN!
I applaude the effort and I hope it turns out well. If so I might take a few of your ideas...
